German BMW has released a software patch for updates over the air, fix vulnerabilities detected in their cars. This vulnerability gave attackers an opportunity to open the doors of the car, using only one smart phone. In the risk zone were BMW, Rolls-Royce and Mini, connect to the service Connected Drive. The service allows drivers to control some functions of your car, for example, to open the door or turn the audio system via a smartphone, according to the organization's website motorists Germany (ADAC).
ADAC Vice President Thomas Burkhardt said that vulnerability was discovered last year, but the organization did not want to talk about it publicly to correct the problem by experts BMW. In the ADAC said they did not find any evidence of the use of the loopholes in the wild, although attacks on computer modeling of several vehicles clearly demonstrated the existing danger.
